define
The luminous flux emitted by a light source at a unit solid Angle in a given direction is defined as the luminous intensity of the light source in that direction. It is the inherent property of point light source, which characterizes the convergence ability of the emitter in space. Intensity describes how bright the light source is. The luminescence intensity is specific to point sources, or where the size of the luminescent body is small in relation to the irradiation distance. This quantity indicates the converging ability of the emitter to emit in space.
Flux - F
define
The amount of light emitted by a light source in unit time is called the luminous flux of the light source. It is the inherent attribute of the light source, is the total energy radiated by the light source in unit time, namely the light power. Similarly, this quantity is for the light source, which describes the total amount of light emitted by the light source and is equivalent to the light power. The greater the luminous flux of the light source, the more light is emitted.
Illuminance - E
define
The amount of illumination produced when the luminous flux of 1 lumen is evenly distributed over a surface of 1 square meter. It reflects the light source from another Angle. The illuminance is relative to the spot but not to the object being irradiated. A lumen of light uniformly shines on an object 1m2, and the illumination is 1 lx. For the measurement of illuminance, use the illuminance meter, or lux meter.
Luminance - L
define
Light flow per unit solid Angle in the normal direction, also known as light intensity per unit area light surface (Kendra/square meter). It reflects how light from the luminous or reflective surface feels when it enters the human eye. The luminance is for the light source, not for the point source, but for the opposite source (including the luminous and reflective surfaces).
